Government cannot fight corruption in Afghanistan
On Wednesday, one of the challengers’ of Hamid Karzai said in a recent presidential election that the current government is not capable to rein in corruption neither will be ale to do in future. He added that the government has wasted the valuable resources and lives of its international allies.
The former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah gave a statement after five British soldiers were killed in a shooting in southern Helmand province. Afghan officialdoms added that the attack was made by an Afghan policeman that opened fire on the British troops.
Abdullah the former FM said that the Afghan government had wasted eight years of chance and the support of its Western allies. He further said that the government also failed to stamp out corruption or institute institutions receptive to the Afghan people.
Abdullah said: “That government cannot bring legitimacy cannot fight corruption,” Abdullah said, adding that it “cannot deal with all the challenges, especially the threat of terrorism, security problems, poverty, unemployment and many others.”
