The incoming Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Airlines Association of Southern Africa̢۪s (AASA) were elected at the body̢۪s 54th Annual General Meeting and will serve for the next 12 months.
The incoming Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Airlines Association of Southern Africa̢۪s (AASA) were elected at the body̢۪s 54th Annual General Meeting and will serve for the next 12 months.
Ms. Lulu Rasebotsa has been re-elected as AASA’s Chairperson. She is the General Manager of Air Botswana, with Interim CEO of South African Airways, Prof. John Lamola, chosen as the Deputy Chair.Â
“Lulu and John will provide guidance and support to AASA in our ongoing engagements with governments, tariff, licensing and safety regulators, airport operators, air navigation service providers and other role players in our advocacy work.Â
AASA’s annual general assembly was hosted by FlySafair and held in Paarl near Cape Town, South Africa.Â
It was attended by over 200 delegates representing airlines, airports, air navigation and weather services, aircraft and engine manufacturers, industry suppliers and other stakeholders.
After a bird strike caused a cracked windshield and pressurization issues on a Boeing 737 flight to Jacksonville, a United Airlines flight safely returned to Newark.
