Canada tourism industry remains a vital economic pillar, supporting over 2 million jobs, or roughly 10% of the country̢۪s employment in 2023. In several regions, tourism stands as a top service export, highlighting its importance to the national economy. This week, federal, provincial, and territorial ministers responsible for tourism convened at the 2024 Canadian Council of Tourism Ministers (CCTM) meeting in Banff National Park, Alberta. The event, co-chaired by the Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, and the Honourable Joseph Schow, Alberta Minister of Tourism and Sport, took place on the traditional Treaty 7 territory.
The largest collection of Roman coins found in Spain is now on exhibit. The museum display features 50,000 ancient coins from the third and fourth centuries A.D.
