The Pilatus PC-12, known for its versatility in the air medical field, is especially suited for long-distance transports and challenging weather conditions that may limit helicopter use. This new fixed-wing aircraft will complement Life Flight Network's current rotor and fixed-wing assets in Boise, maximizing coverage and increasing availability for patients in need as winter approaches.
Equipped with a state-of-the-art medical interior, the aircraft, staffed by a flight-registered nurse and a flight paramedic, allows Life Flight Network crews to operate as a mobile intensive care unit. This setup enables them to perform a wide range of advanced medical procedures during transport, including video laryngoscopy and emergency blood transfusions, ensuring the highest level of care for patients in transit.
