In Far North Queensland, heavy rainfalls and sudden flooding have blocked access to travel routes of Cairns, Daintree, Innisfail, Tully, Gordonvale, and Bellenden Ker. Over 300mm of rain within the span of 24 hours has resulted in flooding, travel disruptions, and detours, and closed roads. Therefore, travellers, particularly those in the regions should be aware of high risk for flash floods. Especially, in the areas of Mulgrave and Daintree Rivers, they are advised to follow safety precautions and continually track alerts. As per the reports of The Meteorology Bureau, the next 48 hours Queensland will experience heavy rain. However, weekends are expected to be drier weather. So, plan ahead to avoid delays in these heavy-traffic areas.
